Description

A letter from the priest and painter Celestin Medović sent from his native Kuna on Pelješac in 1910. The letter was probably addressed to Mrs. Lina Bogdan from Cavtat. You can see the signature perfectly and the content is interesting. It's a rarity on the market.

Mato Celestin Medović (17 November185720 January1920) was a Croatianpainter. He is one of the most important protagonists of the Croatian painting scene of the second half of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century. He achieved notable success in the genre of historical compositions, and although he found his expression in different painting types, he significantly contributed to the affirmation of landscapein Croatian painting.
